This note summarizes several modern theories of adult learning, including the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, Neurolinguistic Programming, and the theories of Malcolm Knowles, David Kolb, and Gib Akin. The note can be used as an introduction to adult learning in a doctoral seminar on pedagogy and invites readers to be aware of adult learning styles in preparing for and teaching their classes.
