Naguib Sawiris was still eyeing several of the top mobile telephony markets in the world, but competition for attractive telecom assets is increasing, and Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) needed to deal with several setbacks in its globalization efforts. This case has been used in Darden's "Post Merger Integration" course elective.
